Analyzing employment by occupation across sectors in Greek labor market

In this paper we investigate the trends in number of employees by occupational category across economy's main sectors. For purpose our study use mixed-fixed and random coefficient modeling, taking unemployment, gross value added, employee compensation, proxies for labor force participation rate as determining factors. Using annual data from 2000 to 2018, examine effects factors on share workers sector occupation. Our econometric research shows that regression coefficients vary between sectors categories occupation proposed model correctly estimates dependent variable heterogeneous variation effects. can be used identify occupations with current future shortages well assessment anticipation employment needs. This study's contribution is provision a flexible innovative tool, minimal requirements, investigating assessing economic activities over time. Moreover, conjunction other forecasting macroeconomic models, it offer accurate forecasts levels employment.
